North and south of Yeongwol Cheongryeongpo / The north, south and east of Yeongwol Cheongryeongpo are surrounded by water and its west, blocked by rock face is not accessible without ship. Danhongeoso (, or Royal Palace of King Danjong) / Hundreds years of pine forests surround Danjongeoso, or royal palace of King Danjong around the king’s place of exile, which has been restored to a tile-roofed house according to the records of Seungjeongwon’s Diary. One long-standing pine tree bends over the residence where King Danjong had stayed, as if it were making a deep bow to the king. Haengrangchae / This is the place where the court ladies and governmental slaves who had followed King Danjong lived. There is one special pine tree among the pine trees surrounding Danhongeoso It is said that King Danjong sat and relaxed on the then-2-forked tree. Gwaneumsong of the pine tree, (National Monument No. 349) is named after the tree saw King Danjong’s sad look and heard his voice at a time of his exile.
