Wolchulsan is the highest mountain on the southwestern part of South Jeolla Province and because it is said that it looks like the Geumgangsan (Mt.) was copied and built here, it is also called the Sogeumgang (Mt.) or Small Geumgang of Honam. A thousand years ago, a statue of Buddha was built in this easily visible space while wishing for the peace and prosperity of sea routes, which was an important trade route in the past. High in Wolchulsan is a Buddhist statue that looks down upon the world.
